Blake Pardue from Nov 9, 2008 Blake was accepted by the
MTW (Mission to the
world, the PCA’s missionary branch) for an 18 month mission to Addis Ababa,
Ethiopia. His mission will include teaching French at a Christian School
called Bingham Academy where ½ of students are children of missionaries and the
other half are natives. When he is at school and not teaching, he will be
mentoring kids in their faith through various activities such as leading
fellowship groups. When not at school teaching he will be working with the MTW
team in Addis Ababa, mostly on HIV/AIDS relief efforts.
The part that really got me personally was the following from Blake “When I step
back and think about it all I’m at awe at how God has worked this into my life.
And I’m slowing realizing why missions are such a strong (perhaps the
strongest) manifestation of our response to God’s grace. Every aspect of this
mission is helping me strengthen my faith as I understand that I’m just here to
play out His will.”
Blake needs to raise $38,000 for his trip. The Mission Team plans to contribute
and Blake will appreciate it any of the Adventurer’s could also help.
